The members of the association are actively fighting against the distribution of TV and films without the permission of the producer or supplier. They also facilitate legal broadcasting of the TV on the telecommunications market, maintaining active cooperation with the competent authorities of Latvia, namely the National Electronic Mass Media Council (NEMMC), the State Police Economic Crime Enforcement Department (SP ECED), the Public Utilities Commission (PUC), the State Revenue Service (SRS), the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia (MoC), the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Latvia (MoF), the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Latvia (MoT), associations of the information and communication technology industry etc., and get involved with specific proposals suggested by the industry representatives to develop binding laws and regulations in order to minimise and eradicate the activities of illegal TV service providers in Latvia.
